    The nature of Kattegat and its atmosphere is amazing. Kattegat located in today as viking valley in norway,and if I go to abroad,I'll visit absolutely these viking valley and I'll meet this local people who are used to viking cultures. It's one of the my dream,I hope I can realize it.

    Kattegat is the stretch of water between Denmark and Sweden - and the name is actually Dutch: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kattegat
    The town that really existed - I suppose you mean the region of 'Viken'???

    So that scene at 1:30 is the inlet depicted as Kattegat in the Vikings show, and is actually in Ireland? I've always wondered where this place actually was. I guess all the mist and the dark gloomy palette is from filters in production to make it look more Scandinavian and fitting to the era.
